This is what our building looks like after 22 months. If you don’t want this, avoid Jeff Ward Construction
This website was setup in an attempt to bring recognition to the deceptive practices of this contractor.
March of 2021.
We were advised it would take 6 weeks to acquire the materials and then 2 weeks to construct the building.
After multiple delays and excuses, Jeff and his crew finally showed up to frame the walls in October of 2021 (7 months instead of 6 weeks). Framing the walls took 3 days and we believed we were making good progress.
We then saw his crew for a half day in November, a half day in January (2022 now) and half day in February. We then didn’t see his crew again until July.
From July through September, we saw them a day each month, each time noting we were now the priority and would be on our job daily until finished.
In October, we finally saw the roof trusses arrive and get installed and anticipated the building would be complete in a matter of days.
November passed with no work again and I finally had enough. On December 1st, I sent Jeff a notice that he had until the end of the month to complete the building. He reached out a few days later and noted he could have the roof on by end of month but would have the remainder of the building completed by 1/20/2023.
As of January 16th, 2023, he has not completed any additional work, not taken any measurements, no attempts to reach out unless I contact him, and the responses I have gotten have not been completed or followed through on.
Initial contract was for $40,000 to build a 45x50 pole barn with three garage doors, 4 windows and a walk in door. Per the contract, we paid the initial deposit of $14,000. Second deposit was due at the completion of the walls.
At this point, it was middle of October 2020 and was the first work we had seen and we were advised the building would be completed in another week, so a second payment was made of $15,000 (should have only been $10k, and technically the walls were not complete at the time)..
Total, we have paid $29,000 of a $40,000 building. The garage doors have been quoted at $8000, leaving his portion of the building at $32,000. We technically would still owe Jeff $3000 for a finished building, but at this time, would need the gables closed in with wood and all of the metal work completed. There is quite a bit more than $3000 remaining on this building.
NO. NEVER.
This project has been a nightmare. He has never showed up when promised, he does not follow-through on any thing he commits to. He has taken our money to work on other projects, and likely taken money from other people to occasionally work on our project.
His BBB rating is low (link below).
I have turned our case over to Harris County Ga Sherifs office for investigation of Fraud and Theft, and they have noted other cases in the area that are also under investigation.
AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS…!!!
